Deliver Me From the Wave Machine
Nov. 21st, 2024 01:30 pmToday is my first day off since last Thursday, and boy did I need it. I never work Thursdays, but work has been alternating or near alternating my schedule such that I will work Friday through Wednesday, then have a Saturday off, then the next week I work Friday through Wednesday again. As long as the six days aren't on the same week they don't care. Which tires me the fuck out.
Having no control over my work schedule or even my sleep schedule has done soooo much damage to my ability to feel capable of accomplishing anything. But today I did do something! I went to Target. It's truly amazing how bad Target's grocery section is. I can't imagine shopping there, it's so tiny. How do you even get anything done?
I picked up some pants for work, as my current ones have split in the ass as they always eventually do. I'm a woman of bountiful virtue, after all. I also got some pajama pants! They're quite cute, very Christmassy. I haven't owned pajama pants since I lived in Texas, which was about 5 years ago. So I'm pretty happy. I also got some tights and the ever-requested snacks for my wife: Gardetto's. Weird ass store didn't even have the normal bag, only the family size.
I feel as though the past two years have been a huge growth spurt in my development as an adult human. I fixed my teeth last year, finally, and have been back on HRT for nearly two years. Which isn't far off from how long I was off of them.
It snowed today too! Which was nice. Made the drive to Target obnoxious, and made our lunch cold. But I love winter. It's so beautiful, and the snow changes the landscape of the world around you. I'd like to take this momentum and do some other non-blog writing today, but no promises. I do need to put up a podcast, and also to finish writing up a couple RPG sessions from my Planescape game.
Tonight I have yet more things planned: some mulled wine with my wife, and a night of chilling in voice with the closest oomfies. Grogu is nigh.
